very happy
When it shows 'C' the manual says it means there was an error with the reading.
I've only had it a few days but I haven't seen any inconsistent readings, I suspect the other person got a lemon or they have fixed the quality or I fluked and got a good one or mine won't last long. A lot of scales have similar reviews about having inconsistent readings and people that have a problem are more likely to write a review (*I* don't like that it uses 2 aaa batteries instead of the typical button battery). I like the fact it is plastic and light because I don't have room to leave it out. Some people might prefer a heavy glass one.

Completely Unreliable
I bought this scale a few weeks ago as I am making better lifestyle choices and wanted to track my weight loss. Every time I step on the scale, I get a different reading ranging anywhere between 0.2 - 20 pounds in the difference. I can step on, step off, and step back on and the weight is way different. I think you can calibrate it by stepping off and touching the surface with your foot because when you do this, a 'C' comes up on the screen. Doing this does not even work. Will be throwing this in the trash. Waste of money.

don't buy
When it shows 'C' the manual says it means there was an error with the reading. I like the fact it is plastic and light because I don't have room to leave it out. Some people might prefer a heavy glass one. The first one I had switched (by itself) to displaying kgs instead of lbs twice now. I exchanged it under warranty. I only had it a few days but it didn't have seen any inconsistent readings. The 2nd one has already switched by itself. I'm starting to think it is a bad design (a real switch is needed) and it has inconsistent readings. I am returning it and giving up on this brand.

I have a Starfrit balance bathroom scale. How do I change it from kg to lb. ??
Hello,
You will find the instruction manual under the product page and it clearly shows how to do this: https://www.starfrit.com/media/pdf/instrbooklet--User-manual-0938520040000-en.pdf. Behind the scale you will find a button to change from kg to lb. Sometimes it's in the battery compartment. Have a nice day!

Why do starfrit scales mostly use two aaa batteries while other manufacturers use a single button battery? Are these scales power hungry?
Hello,
Our manufacturer produces the units with those types of batteries in mind - it only has to do with the design of the scales. If you need additional information, please contact us at 1-800-361-6232. Have a nice day!
