CLEANING AND CARE Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and leave it to cool down completely before cleaning. Never immerse the kettle or cord in water or allow moisture to contact these parts.
Removal of mineral deposits Mineral deposits in tap water may cause discoloration in the kettle interior. To remove this build-up, use non-toxic scale/lime remover and follow the manufacturer's directions. Alternatively:
1. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and the remainder with water and let it sit overnight. Do not boil.
2. Empty the solution from the kettle. Any stains remaining inside the spout can be removed by wiping with a damp cloth. Fill the kettle with clean water, bring to a boil and then discard the water.
3. Repeat step 2, then the kettle will be ready to use.
Cleaning external housing Wipe the external housing with a damp cloth or cleaner.
CAUTION: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle.
Cleaning the Filter Pull out the scale filter for cleaning. Wash the filter in warm soapy water and rinse or place it in the utensil holder of the dishwasher.
Storage When not in use or storage, the power cord may be wrapped under the base of the kettle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mame from It works! I have had the Heritage electric kettle for a few weeks, and it works well - of course it's new - and looks good. Extremely thin and lightweight in the materials department, we'll see if that makes a difference in the long run. Big like is the fact that the handle and on/off switch and clear fluid level guide are all one piece. My last kettle - a Bosch - didn't die, it leaked. It had 3 separate plastic parts inserted into the 'brushed metal' kettle and would turn itself off due to water leaking. It was not fixable unless I wanted to buy a high-heat food grade epoxy. As always, it's cheaper to buy another kettle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fongand from Good stainless steel kettle Bought this kettle one month ago at Cdn Tire on sale for 1/2 price. Very pleased with price, performance (with one exception) and design. No issues with the handle as some have experienced. The spout filter falls out easily and for me serves no useful purpose..this threw it out. The only performance issue I had was that the kettle did not shut off soon enough (kept boiling for one minute) after reaching boiling point. Exchanged the kettle for another identical kettle which performed as it should..shuts off 10 seconds or so after reaching a boil. So far so good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Doreen18 from Electric kettle for a newly renovated granny suite My husband and I have moved into a granny suite in our daughter’s home that our children renovated for us. We only need a small electric kettle and the Hertiage 1.7 L is the perfect seize. We like the water view feature and the light that tells us when the. Kettle is on. We are regular tea drinkers and could not do without our tea!!! It boils excelllently! Plus it was on sale the day we bought it!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nanacaf from Good Value This was my first purchase of a Heritage Electric Kettle. I have purchased other similar looking kettles in the past and the price on the Heritage was quite a bit less. The functionality is just as good as the higher priced options on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tookalook from Love this kettle I bought this almost a year ago and I love this kettle. It has a small removable filter at the spout so it’s easy to clean if it needs it. The cord wraps around the base which is handy for storage and even if you don’t want the entire cord on your counter. I had looked at a glass kettle when purchasing and I’m so glad I got this. I’m sure I would’ve broken the glass one by now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Phil1234 from Fast Heat I bought this to replace a previous cordless kettle that had become intermittent. I wanted something that had an easy to clean interior that was stainless steel and worked quickly. It is also very reasonably priced. The only design issue, though minor, is that the cord is shorter than my last one, and has a restrictive location possible near the plug in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nykkee from A great kettle The Heritage electric kettle is a great kettle. It heats water quickly, and though I have not yet had to use the feature I think it's really cool that the little screen at the spout can be removed for cleaning. Also it looks much nicer on my counter than my old plastic one did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Me001 from easy to use! Works like a charm. Not to loud. We got ours at Canadian Tire. There was a coupon inside stating the $1000 contest was every trimester of 1017/2018. Thats over two years old. I guess you could call that "NOS: New Old Stock". The kettle looks as good as the day it was made.

Why does the electric kettle have a filter? Doesn't it just hold water?
The filter is needed to create a small pressure in the kettle when it boils. Steam is then forced into the handle where it trips the shut-off switch. Try it without the filter and see it belch steam for a long time before it shuts down.
