I just bought one and it won't plunge at all. There is a built in tab in the piece that guides the blades and I can't see its purpose but it seems to be the cause of the problem. What's wrong?

How does this chopper open for cleaning
Hello,
For easy cleaning, unscrew the transparent base, slide the plastic part away from the blades and wash everything in hot soapy water. Sides open up for easy cleaning. If you need more information, don't hesitate to contact us at 1-800-361-6232. Have a nice day!
