Rated 4 out of 5 by from Affordable and high quality Having to replace my old electric kettle, I bought this one from Starfrit recently. Although it was one of the cheapest on the shelf, to my surprise the quality of the kettle is actually really good. It's stainless steel and the kettle is a lot taller than other kettles, meaning it can hold more water. Of course, it also has the button by the handle to open the lid, and a button u can press down to start the kettle. The only thing that's designed a little bit awkwardly/unnaturally is that you have to press on the upper part of the lid button instead of the lower part to open the lid. However, overall the design is clean and nice. This is a very safe buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works! I have had the Heritage electric kettle for a few weeks, and it works well - of course it's new - and looks good. Extremely thin and lightweight in the materials department, we'll see if that makes a difference in the long run. Big like is the fact that the handle and on/off switch and clear fluid level guide are all one piece. My last kettle - a Bosch - didn't die, it leaked. It had 3 separate plastic parts inserted into the 'brushed metal' kettle and would turn itself off due to water leaking. It was not fixable unless I wanted to buy a high-heat food grade epoxy. As always, it's cheaper to buy another kettle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good stainless steel kettle Bought this kettle one month ago at Cdn Tire on sale for 1/2 price. Very pleased with price, performance (with one exception) and design. No issues with the handle as some have experienced. The spout filter falls out easily and for me serves no useful purpose..this threw it out. The only performance issue I had was that the kettle did not shut off soon enough (kept boiling for one minute) after reaching boiling point. Exchanged the kettle for another identical kettle which performed as it should..shuts off 10 seconds or so after reaching a boil. So far so good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Electric kettle for a newly renovated granny suite My husband and I have moved into a granny suite in our daughter’s home that our children renovated for us. We only need a small electric kettle and the Hertiage 1.7 L is the perfect seize. We like the water view feature and the light that tells us when the. Kettle is on. We are regular tea drinkers and could not do without our tea!!! It boils excelllently! Plus it was on sale the day we bought it!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not What I Expected I thought this would be a great kettle for the price. I usually only pay $20-$30 for a kettle, but this one had good reviews. The base is too light to keep the kettle stable. I tried to pry the lid off when I got it, then realized that's what the button is for. This must have done something to it because now it leaks out the top when I pour a full kettle out. My husband said just don't pour it all the way. I also can't figure out how to get the limescale filter back in. It must have fallen out and I can't get it to clip back in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant. Simple. Affordable. We're a young couple whose previous kettle lasted nearly 10 years. When we had to replace it, we wanted something similarly simple and effective. No need for fancy gadgets or various temperature settings. But we definitely prioritized kettles made of high-quality, durable materials. Price was certainly a consideration, and when we put together all those factors, we found this electric kettle checked all the boxes. Since we've had it, it's boiled water faster than our last kettle and generally performed as expected. Recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value This was my first purchase of a Heritage Electric Kettle. I have purchased other similar looking kettles in the past and the price on the Heritage was quite a bit less. The functionality is just as good as the higher priced options on the market.

Why does the electric kettle have a filter? Doesn't it just hold water?

Asked by: CathyD
The filter is needed to create a small pressure in the kettle when it boils. Steam is then forced into the handle where it trips the shut-off switch. Try it without the filter and see it belch steam for a long time before it shuts down.
