Rated 3 out of 5 by from Defective This pan is great for frying food for one. But was frying a hamburger and coating came off the bottom of the pan and burnt and stained the burner. I emailed the company and was told the bottom of the pan is not under warranty and would not affect the quality of the food. I replied saying it would not affect the food but now there is a burnt stain on the burner of our new stove. So then I was told to go out and buy cleaning products and tools to clean the stove. So now we have an un-usable pan and a bunch of cleaning products and tools

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the best of all I bought this during 2019 Christmas sale and to be frank I'm in love with it. Actually, I mistook the name 'HERITAGE ROCK' for actual rock and thought the pan is made of rock which was the prime reason why I bought it so that it would last longer and ya obviously it was on sale too. Speaking of the quality, I am super impressed. I mean no other pans have lasted me this long. Even after 2 years of continuous use, nothing sticks to the bottom even with those greasy fry recipes. And it is super easy to clean too. So, ya go for it.. Trust me this is definitely that one thing you won't regret buying..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not happy with the lid Replaced my old fry pan which also had a lid, think it may have been a less expensive brand possibly T- Fal. ZFor the most part like the new Rock deep Fry Pan however not happy with the lid for 2 reasons: #1. the metal logo in the middle of the rubber handle on the lid will burn your hands if you don't use a mitt, so quite annoying you can't remove the lid unless you are wearing a mitt. #2. the vent hole on top of the lid does not let very much steam escape so you have a lot of water/juices gathering that drip all over (if you're not paying attention) when you remove the lid. I put out the extra $ thinking it would be better than my more reasonably priced T-Fal but feel although the pan is probably better quality it's lacking in overall design & function.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better than teflon, not quite cast iron I bought this pan to replace a teflon one as I wanted a safer alternative that was more durable and still non stick. Was slightly disappointed to discover the pan still requires oil to be added with each use and also that it couldn't be used with settings higher than medium heat. The uneven "rocky" surface seems like it will be prone to getting stuff stuck in it but that remains to be seen. It seems odd since I have seen other products in this series that have the same coating but with a smooth surface. All in all it is still a step up from the old teflon pan but i think next time i would probably go with one that has a smooth surface and probably one that can be used at higher heat settings.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Positive reviews are fake! Cleaned & rinsed well before using. Cons: Can only be used at low to medium heat? You know the way the air smells in Canadian Tire - well that's exactly how my 2 perfectly good hamburgers tasted now wasted in the trash bin. Smell the pan before you buy it, you'll know what I mean. A waste of manufacturing skills.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and Best fry pan I have ever owned In the past I’ve had sets of T-Fal frypans. In the past two years I purchased a white ceramic pan, then a gold Gotham pan. Neither made me happy and unlike the advertisements, food stuck to these pans, even if sprayed with Pam. I love my 10” Rock and wished all my pans were made of the same materials. I love it so much that I would do a commercial for free to promote this fine product. Thank you for developing this great new technology. Sincerely, K. Revoy ❤️

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Non-Stick and fast even heating fry pans We bought these in January 2016 and find them to be very good quality and the non-stick feature works really well. We had purchased some of these pans previously at Canadian Tire, but the ones sold at Costco are more heavy duty and were in our view a better value . We have had a problem with the handle on one of the pans overheating and they have promised to replace it for us and we're not sure why it happened as the other pan is fine and does not do that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the size, how deep this pan is & easy clean The size and deep walls are great on this pan. You never run out of room when making a big dish. Of course the non stick coating is great. May times I now cook without butter or oils. The dirty pans never sit on the stove because it is so quick and easy to clean. Warm water and dish brush, and done. Love all the products. We now own the electric fry pan, the large roaster, the electric wok, and 3 frying pans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT QUALITY, GREAT PRICE We purchased this product for ourselves a few months ago. We just love it! The durability and quality is optimal. Easy to clean and the non-stick coating really makes it easy to work with. We love the aluminum base. Other frypans have buckled or flexed over time however, this product is truly as solid as a "ROCK". We have seen it in many stores; Canadian tire, Costco, Walmart etc. Very easy to find and resonably priced. As a result we have purchased pieces for our family and friends, and will continue to do so in the future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loved Until Warped Would rather leave a 5 star review because the Rock is actually a very good frying pan. I loved everything about this product until it warped on the stove top. I don't have my receipt so Starfrit states they can't replace it :( Not sure if I really want to buy another one considering the price tag. Would rather get it replaced.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this frying pan, as well as two other size pans 3 years ago. The product was amazing for 1-2 years - nothing would stick to the pans. However, that slowly changed. Now everything burns no matter what I do. Its absolutely horrible and unhealthy. I am disappointed given they are pricy. I was warned from friends years ago that the rock frying pans don't hold up for more than 1-2 years. They were right. I have been delaying getting rid of them but its time to get new frying pans. I will not buy this product again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It WAS a good fry pan but isn't now I used this 9" fry pan for several years with good luck. More recently it has stopped being non stick. I have to use signifiant amounts of olive oil when cooking omelets. Sadly I see there is only a threee year warranty with a receipt - which suggests Heritage Rock knows the product will fail after a time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Set!!! Bought 4 more for Christmas I bought a set for my husband & I and loved it sooooo much, I bought another set for my parents (their old set of pots & pans needed to be retired)! With Christmas coming I knew all my daughters NEEDED to have a set for themselves!! Like they say, a family that cooks together STAYS together. I love my Rock cookware & just today bought the electric skillet & used it as soon as I got home. Planning my next Rock purchase now hmmmm the Rock Wok… and then the Rock Belgian Waffle maker.. and then….. Can’t wait!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as exited as I thought I would be. For the first few months, we were very happy. Now, not so much. Nearly everything is sticking and the pan just looks like a cheap pan. I wanted to do a warranty claim, but I cannot. No receipt. Seriously, who keeps a receipt for a frying pan. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, durable, and doesn't seem easily scratchable I bought this at Canadian Tire (CT) recently when they were on sale for $25 Canadian + tax. I have used the pan several times only so I can't say how good it will be in the long-term but so far, I like that it's lightweight, durable (the handle is screwed in so it won't come off unlike the Paderno one that I got from Canadian Tire, which was recommended by a CT staff) and it doesn't seem easily scratchable (unlike the Paderno pan). It also cooks my food well. Let's see how good it will be down the road.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Fry Pan I started my Heritage The Rock collection with this pan a couple of weeks ago. And I was hooked off of the first use. I put it to the test, fried an egg with no oil and nothing stuck. That was my selling point. I love the deep pan, so even though its a smaller fry pan it can still hold enough to cook a meal for one easily. Also, the fact that it holds its heat and keeps an evening heating surface right through cooking. Love these pans, especially the fact that you can place them in the oven if needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Robust Product I just wanted you to know that I have just used my new pan on some of the most problematic of cooking foods and I’ve got to say what a GREAT performance. I’m very happy with the product’s quality build and specs. Pan is perfectly flat, well balanced, distributes heat evenly at low input temperatures. ALL as advertized! I know I’m going to be very pleased with it for a very long time and will not hesitate to recommend it to my culinary skilled friends. Great addition to the Starfrit brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bottom flaking off after first use. I had a starfrit electric frying pan for 6 years and had to replace it because someone put it in the dishwasher and the place where you put the plug in rusted and made attaching the cord difficult and had a loose connection, therefore unsafe. The new one started flaking off after the first use, I used it once more but will be throwing it away. I have many heritage small appliances that are years old, thought it was a good name but not anymore. I will not be buying heritage anymore

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coating Doesn't Last Two sizes of the frypan that worked well for a while; however, the coating wore off within ten months, presenting a health risk and necessity of discarding both of them. Saw another exact same frypan in the same condition in our community recycle. This product isn't made to last very long. Just another product designed with obsolescence and the necessity of repeatedly tossing products in the landfill and buying another. A great environmental and health disgrace.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect for all-in-one meals This is the first Heritage The Rock item I ever purchased. It is fantastic. Its large enough that I have used it to make spaghetti sauce from start to finish. Its deep enough that I have made potato chowder in it, again form start to finish. And it is oven proof, I've even used it to make baked macaroni and cheese, made the cheese sauce in the pan, stirred in my cooked noodles, and popped it the oven, voila!! And due to the no stick finish clean up is always easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Rock I'm a deep cave miner, hard rock when I was setting up an explosive charge an accident occurred I ran and grabbed my new fry pan when the explosion occurred. 26 sticks of dynamite went off but luckily for me I had my hard rock fry pan used it to Shield flying debris. After two days of digging myself out my trusty fry pan and I were free. I thank the fry pan for saving my life it has been one year now and many steaks and eggs later I would not buy another pan.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Price does not indicate quality We've had two sizes of the frying pan for maybe a year, we bought them from Canadian Tire on sale. For the price I imagined better quality, but the pans started peeling on the bottom after only a few months of use and food particles get trapped in the pitted texture of the pan (in other words it is a nightmare to clean and the finish wears quite easily). It's also not really non stick, it still requires oil. Overall it's not that impressive.

This pan and cook ware set will not lose its shape ,They are the best to fry a steak in or French toast so this Christmas I bought two sets to give away plus and one for my self . Can't wait buy more 'theRock' Loretta M

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pan! Perfect for one pot dishes! Great for soups, stews, chili, and anything else you normally have to fry things for then transfer to a pot to cook. Holds so much food it's easy to make enough for leftovers and for freezing at the same time. I cook a lot and find myself using this pan even when I could use a smaller one because of how evenly it distributes heat and nothing I've made sticks to it. They aren't cheap, but worth it.

What do I do when only after a month or so, my Rock frying pan has already starting losing its coating. I use the correct utensils in it, silicone, and wash it properly.

Is it PTFE free? You failed to mention that in the last question.

Asked by: Becca123
Good Day, Yes this pan has PTFE The PTFE used in the fabrication of the non-stick coating are chemically inert. The PTFE is a tender deformable material and is semi crystalline, opaque, white and alimentary. Pure PTFE is FDA (Food and Drug Administration) conforming.

Is this pan free of PTFE/FPOA/PFOS? How the non-stick is achieved? Is the food exposed to aluminum? Is there a temperature limit for cooking on stove?

Asked by: Zol49
Good day, Rock coating contains no PFOA, PFAS, lead, cadmium, or nickel and is approved by the FDA and is completely safe. This coating is manufactured by a very well-known and reliable company called Whitford. Food is not exposed to aluminum. The ideal temperature to cook with The Rock coating is low to medium setting, as it is designed to cook evenly and contain the heat throughout. However, bringing water to a boil on maximum is fine, it is preferable to turn down to medium once it is boiling. How do I see the price of the item. How do you order

Asked by: Dee89
Good day, You have to be sure that you are on the right website. If you are in Canada, look at the top right hand corner to be sure you are in English Canada because if you are on the US website you will not see the prices and vice versa. Also, the prices will not show if it says in store only or not available at that time. You can then add this item to the cart above.
