Rated 5 de 5 de CPulsifer par Make short work of any dinner prep. Was looking for a reliable meat cleaver, and decided to try the Starfrit Santoku one. It arrived packaged in a thick plastic clamshell, and protective rubber tip covers. Upon examination, the cleaver has rubber nubs on the handle to prevent slippage. The handle felt nice and solid. The blade was very sharp, with a very slight curve. I have used the cleaver on beef, chicken, pork and vegetables, as well as the classic "paper cutting" experiment. It has a slightly angled blade at the cutting edge, which allows for easy slicing of thin pieces of meat. The blade is well balanced by the perfectly sized handle. Ingredients rarely stick to the blade, almost like it's non-stick in texture, which is very helpful when slicing up a roast. Having used it daily since it was received, I am very satisfied with the Santoku cleaver. I have had to sharpen it once, very lightly, as I like my knives very sharp. It sharpened beautifully. I use a 3-step sharpening tool. Would I recommend this product? Yes, absolutely. Would I buy it again? Yes. Would I make any changes or add anything? A blade protector, even just covering the sharp edge, I feel would be a very helpful addition, not only to protect the blade, but butter fingers as well.
