Nouvelle version non-fonctionnelle
Je suis l’heureux propriétaire d’une première version du produit acquise il y a environs 10 ans. À l’achat d’un second éplucheur à laisser chez ma conjointe, je suis très déçu de la nouvelle version. L’empattement de l’appareil étant plus petit, la lame doit s’appuyer différemment sur la pomme. L’appareil attaque mal le dessous de la pomme, creuse un trou dans le fruit ce qui l’empêche de tourner ou encore la lame soulève la pomme et la fait tomber. Qui plus est, sans l’outil de découpe en quartier qui était autrefois inclus, utiliser l’appareil est maintenant une perte de temps. J’espère que le commerce qui m’a vendu ce produit le reprendra.

j'en ai un depuis 20 ans, j'ai encore mes lames de rechanges collées dessous, pas encore besoin de changer! C'est vrai que c'est long de tourner, mais on peut tourner très très vite, ça coupe quand même. C'est plus facile qu'à la main et sur le lot ça sauve du temps; en fait à partir de 2 pommes je l'utilise. GARE aux coupures, je connais plusieurs personnes qui l'ont jeté parce qu'ils se sont coupés. Si on suit des consignes strictes (ne jamais enlever la pomme tant que la lame n'est pas cachée sous le moyeu), même les enfants peuvent l'utiliser. De loin supérieur à celui en métal qui a pris sa place pendant quelques années (qui se fixe au bord du comptoir).

The Best
This apple peeler is the best peeler i ever used.
Ive owned at least 2 other types of peeoer which much more expensive and were NOT user friendly and were thrown in garbage after a couple uses.
I just hope its easy and cheap to buy replacement blades. Although the 2 that come with peeler will probably last a long time , i suspect anyway.
The only thing about oeeler that would have been nicer if the handle for rotating apple would stay attached to the peeler while using it. If u dont keep it lightly held inward while turning it, it will fall off. Not a real biggy but i think starfrit could have provided a clip or something to keep it attached while in use.
It still deserves a full 5 star except only 4 stars for features.

This thing works!
My hands are getting arthritic so doing my apples this year was painful. After reading a ton of reviews on peelers, this one rated the top. It works like magic. I can peel a large bowl of apples in less than 5 minutes. Amazing. If it was made entirely of stainless steel, I would give it 5 stars. I would pay 5 times the amount I paid if it had no plastic parts. I hope it lasts a long time, it works so well.

J'ai été très déçu de constater que le manche de plastique avec le couteau n'était pas résistante au gros postérieur de mon ami. en effet, il s'est assit dessus lors du cours de science et ce dernier a brisé sous son poids inférieur à 115 livres. Très choqué, la réparation de ce dernier est impossible, je demande un remboursement immédiat.

Déception totale
je n'ai pas aimé l'éplucheur de pommes, c'est beaucoup trop long, tourner, tourner, encore tourner la roulette, à la fin le dessus et le dessous, il faut le finir au couteau. De plus, ça ne fait pas du tout comme dans la pub, la pomme devient deformer par les lames, d'ailleurs j'ai eu le meme problème avec le Rotato pour les patates. j'ai fini par ne plus l'utiliser et le faire à la main. Ensuite, je m'en suis débarassé auprès d'un Centraide.

Why does it say in the instructions that the handle “clicks to lock” when in fact it does not click on? The handle needs to be held in place. I noted that others have the same comment. Perhaps change instructions - or - have the handle work as described.
