leaves a very sharp edge on the can
I am not happy that it leaves a very sharp edge on the can and I am unable to put the lid inside the can for recycling as you can do with other can openers. Not recommended for use with small children around. At least the other types of can openers the lid has a sharp edge but can be safely placed inside the can that does not have a sharp edge.

Too dangerous
First, let me start by saying the build quality and ease of use are great. However as others have pointed out it leaves an extremely sharp edge on the can. We have had the opener for a couple of weeks now and even with me being aware of the sharp edge I managed to cut my finger bad enough that it required medical care. I also have concerns about putting the cans in the recycling and having someone else injuring themselves as well.
We will not be using this opener anymore. Will find a suitable replacement from Starfrit.

Original was Much better
I was very happy with our first Starfrit can opener, where neither the lid nor the can were left with sharp edges. Though this replacement has no sharp edges on the lid,it does leave a SHARP edge on the can! I am Not at all happy about that. The opener itself works just fine.

Meilleur ouvre-boîte!!
Confortable. Ouvre les boîtes en un tour de mains. Facile à utiliser. Et le couvert reste accroché après l'ouvre-boîte jusqu'à ce qu'on l'ouvre, donc ne tombe pas dans la canne!! 100% satisfaite!

Migtican Can Open is the Best

I have a starfrit hand held can opener always loved it but lately its hard to open the cans. Does the blades get dull? Is there a guarantee on the blades. I don't have the receipt.

I love the function of this can opener. Lately, though, it has developed a sticky, glue-type residue on the black surface that cannot be scrubbed off. It makes it very unpleasant when used. What can I do to remove this?
